TapHalo Healthcare

Your emergency profile can help in a crisis. Your care timeline stays private.

This page explains what someone can see when they tap a Care Bracelet, what remains inside the owner account, and how home care records and photos are stored and protected.

Nothing medical is stored on the bracelet

The NFC chip and QR code contain only the bracelet’s unique TapHalo web link.

You choose the emergency details

Only the information selected for the exact bracelet profile appears when it is tapped.

The care timeline stays private

Visit records, notes and photos are protected inside the owner’s account.

What appears when a Care Bracelet is tapped

Anyone with the exact bracelet link can see the emergency details the owner has chosen to publish. These may include the wearer’s name, date of birth, emergency contact and phone number, allergies, medical conditions, medication, and GP or care contact.

This access is deliberate so a finder, first responder or carer can act without installing an app or signing in. TapHalo does not provide a public directory, search page or list of bracelet wearers. Knowing one bracelet link does not reveal another person’s profile.

What is stored on the bracelet

The bracelet stores only its unique TapHalo web address. Personal, contact and medical information is stored in TapHalo Cloud, not on the NFC chip or printed QR code. The owner can update the profile without replacing the bracelet.

Care visits and the private timeline

Carers tap the wearer’s bracelet to record arrival and departure, meals and drinks, medication entries, wellbeing checks, personal care and notes. These records form the wearer’s private Healthcare timeline and are available only through the authorised owner account.

A carer can create and complete their own visit record but cannot browse or change another visitor’s records. Medication entries are a record of what a person reports doing; TapHalo does not prescribe medication, make clinical decisions or provide medical advice.

Visit photos

Photos attached to a care visit are kept in private storage. They are not displayed on the public bracelet page and cannot be browsed by the public. Protected, time-limited access is created only when an authorised owner opens a photo from their account.

Loved-one notifications

The owner chooses which loved ones receive visit alerts. TapHalo uses those email addresses to send selected arrival and completion updates. Recipients do not automatically receive access to the full private timeline, emergency profile settings or visit photos.

Storage, retention and account choices

Healthcare information is stored in TapHalo Cloud with access rules tied to the owner’s signed-in account. Account checks protect care records from unrelated users, and private photos are stored separately from public pages.

Owners can update emergency details and notification recipients from their account. Care records and the timeline are retained to provide the service and preserve its audit history. To ask about access, correction, export or account deletion, use the TapHalo contact form.

Your responsibility when sharing emergency details

Because emergency details must be readable without a login, only publish information that is necessary and appropriate for an emergency. Keep it accurate and remove details you no longer want shown. If a bracelet is lost, contact TapHalo so access can be reviewed.
